Easy steps to make wedding planning a breeze!
We’ve heard that it’s not just the magpies that like the sparkle. You to seem to have an eye for the glitz. Congratulations are in order, as you have a shiny new addition to your left hand. You’re probably still topping up your glass with champagne as you read this but once you’ve knocked back the remains of your glass, we thought you may need a helping hand with the next steps! Once the champagne bubbles have settled, it’s time to start planning your wedding!
Here are Qube’s top 10 tips to help you make a plan for your special day:
1. Spread the news of your engagement!
If you haven’t already, tell people all about your big news. It’s important that you message all the key members of your life from friends to family first before announcing it on social media.
(We’re sure you’ve nailed this one!)
2. Insure your ring
It’s not the most exciting of things to do, but it is an expensive piece of glitz that is sitting on your left hand. Make sure to insure it against loss, theft and damage. Whether it be added to your home insurance or you decide to take out a whole new policy, you’ll have peace of mind knowing it’s protected.
3. Set a date for the ‘Big Day’
Let’s be realistic here, it is better for you if you establish a few potential dates in your diary as you want to make sure that they will work for everyone. After that the venue hunting can begin!
4. It’s time to write your guest list
This can simply be a draft, after all you could easily decide to add or remove people, but you will need a rough idea of the number of people you want to invite before you begin looking for your venue.
5. Set a budget
Have a chat about how you’re planning on funding the wedding, do you need help from a family member or do you plan to pay for it all yourselves? Maybe you are thinking of starting a special savings plan?
One option for you is to open a new account which will allow you to use it for anything wedding based or alternatively you could consider looking at a credit card plan with 0% interest on credit.
Maybe you want to save over a couple of years and spread payments. At this stage, just be open to be flexible with this, as you get an idea of how much things costs you will tailor this accordingly.
6. Hunt down that venue!
