Saturday 4th September marked the 242nd Anniversary of the Queen Charlotte’s Ball, an annual British debutante ball. The prestigious event was created by King George III as a birthday celebration in honour of his wife in 1780. In more recent years the debutantes are carefully selected from aristocratic families. The young ladies spend a ‘season’ raising money for charities at various events over the course of six months with the Ball being the highlight of the season. This year’s ball was held at One Whitehall Place in London.
The 2021 Queen Charlotte’s Ball was in aid of the Honeypot Children’s Charity. Since 1996 Honeypot has been working to enhance the lives of young carers aged 5-12 years by providing respite breaks and on-going outreach support. In the UK nationwide, Honeypot gives young carers a break from demanding and stressful responsibilities at home and provide a safe, nurturing environment where children at risk can develop their full potential.
Debbie Marks, Founder and CEO of Qube Events & Productions is the event designer of the Queen Charlotte’s Ball which was styled by her team at Qube. It’s the third time the team have had the opportunity to dress this prestigious ball. Jennie Hallam-Peel former debutante who now conducts the ball said she couldn’t quite possibly run the ball without the team. Qube Events are an integral part of the success of the ball.
