Like any fashion, wedding trends change dependent on season and current styles. The geometric trend is currently having its moment with weddings, and some truly stunning features can be made with geometric shapes. Geometric styles make a beautiful backdrop to any wedding. The trend follows on from a ‘Prohibition’ theme that features a diverse range of deep rich colours to soft pastels with a mixture of metallic including copper, rose gold and yellow gold.
Styling and décor for geometric weddings
Qube Events & Productions have been adding to our collection of geometrics since our first ‘prohibition themed’ wedding at Nunsmere with a celebrity couple. Since then, the trend has grown immensely and we now see other décor fitting into the theme really well.
Table Centrepieces
Qube’s centrepiece décor includes a range of geometric hanging lanterns and terrariums. We have a choice of three styles of lanterns and all come with battery powered string lighting to create an industrial feel to your wedding.
The choice is yours to have one or all three of the lanterns to add to the effect of your table décor and centrepieces. The terrariums can be used in addition to the lantern centrepiece, on their own or even with our crystal decanters or cylinder vases. The varying height of the décor creates a dramatic effect that all your guests will love!
Plants and Flowers
Qube Events have paired the centrepieces with a range of plants and flowers. With Pantone’s colour of the year being green, you’ll be the envy of all your guests with added foliage and plants to your tables. Qube’s very own florist can design simple arrangements with fresh or silk flowers to match any theme.
The best arrangements that work have simple foliage draped over centrepieces or intertwined around other centrepiece décor. A mixture of succulents have been used within terrariums to create beautiful table centres with terracotta potted herbs including thyme and rosemary to add a botanical nature to the décor and create a welcoming aroma.
Lighting
As well as the prohibition theme, lighting is a huge factor when creating your ideal geometric wedding. We have a range of lighting to suit all tastes including our festoon lights that can be used to create ceiling canopies, creating draping pillars and backdrops for your ceremony and wedding breakfast.
Candles can be used in the terrariums to add lighting to your table centre and Qube’s popular hanging globes complement the décor.
Table Plans and Stationery
The in-house designers at Qube Events & Productions can create unique and bespoke stationery for your wedding. An example of this is the prohibition themed table plan featuring our festoon lighting, chalkboard backdrop and especially designed table and guest’s names.
Qube’s in-house stationery designer can also create a range of stylish paper invitations, RSVP’s and order of service. Origami is a popular geometric style for stationery and favours, with unique shapes and decorations which can be made from paper.
Tableware and Linen
Weddings can’t be complete without considering your linen and tableware. Investing your time in designing and choosing your theme requires as much time to spend on your guests’ dining experience.
Qube Events offer a range of table linen that work beautifully with the geometric trend such as the black table cloths that create a beautiful contrast to the copper table centres.
Additional linen such as napkins come in a range of colours to also compliment the décor. The metallic charger plates and copper coloured cutlery work beautifully with the theme and add a touch of luxury to all your breakfast tables!
