Qube Events & Productions were thrilled to be a part of Hollyoaks’ star Ayden Callaghan’s wedding to former CBeebies presenter and award winning blogger Sarah Jane Honeywell. The couple were married at the beautiful Nunsmere Hall Hotel. The award-winning country house hotel is nestled just outside Chester, within the beautiful Delamere Forest. Bounded on three sides by a magnificent 60-acre lake, Nunsmere Hall is the ideal location for a wedding.
Wedding Services from Qube Events & Productions
The couple and their son, Phoenix, were surrounded by 70 of their closest friends and family in the romantic Cheshire location. With only 3 months to plan the whole wedding, Qube Events & Productions, Sarah Jane and Ayden, along with Nunsmere Hall managed to elaborately plan, style and create the beautiful celebrity wedding.
With a ‘Prohibition’ theme in mind and the fact that Ayden had proposed to Sarah Jane on top of the Empire State Building, Qube worked with the couple to create their perfect top secret wedding!
Sarah described Nunsmere as “Astonishingly beautiful. It was like owning our own country house for the weekend”. Qube Events & Productions were given the opportunity to decorate the whole of the house from the Hall reception to the ceremony rooms through to the marquee. The couple had their photos shot in the colourful gardens by OK Magazine photographer, Tony Ward. Their beautifully crafted wedding film was made by Squashed Apple.
Wedding Floristry
Qube Events’ in-house florist created hand tied wild flower bouquets for Sarah Jane and her two bridesmaids which included a wild, country mix of flowers with a rustic twist. The bouquets included blue pacific roses, jasmine, clematis, amnesia roses, eucalyptus, phlox, heather and oregano. Ayden wore a coordinated buttonhole on his Lord Tailors suit, along with his seven groomsmen.
Both Sarah Jane and Ayden’s mother’s wore matching corsages that complemented the bridal flowers. Delicate flowers were added to Sarah Jane’s hair along with the dazzling headpiece by Rose Willett Designs and her lace wedding dress from Liverpool Bridal Boutique.
Creative wedding venue styling
The styling team dressed the whole venue with beautiful flowers and props. Qube Events placed a dreamy weeping wisteria copper wishing tree at the entrance to Nunsmere Hall which all guests could see as they entered the manor. The tree base was dressed with succulents, foliage and candles as well as recycled cards that hung from the tree branches with twine. The staircase in the entrance hall was dressed with foliage and an ivory rose garland that trailed intricately through the spindles.
The ceremony room, which was in the main house, was styled and decorated to enhance the rest of the theme for the day.The bride made her way down the candle lit aisle that featured rustic wooden crate plinths topped with moss filled boxes. A chedworth lantern surrounded by tealights and succulents sat on the moss covered crates which were spread amongst candle filled cylinder vases, delicate succulents and logs.
The couple said their beautiful vows, which brought many tears to the eye under a rustic wicker archway that featured wisteria, magnolia and eucalyptus. The registrar table was also dressed with succulents, log tealights, rustic tealight holders and wild fresh flowers.
Sarah Jane, Ayden and their guests made their way into the marquee where the newlyweds enjoyed their first meal of their married life. The decking area which attached the main house to the marquee was lined with Qube Events’ Chedworth lanterns and hundreds of jam jar candle holders to light the way. Hessian bunting lined the walkway to the entrance of the marquee along with matching topiary trees wrapped with hessian bows.
Qube also provided the 4ft tall light up ‘LOVE’ letters which are a beautiful addition once the had sun set. The marquee styling also featured Qube’s LED white dance floor and a sweetie bar served on rustic beer barrels.
Table styling and bespoke props
The top table was dressed with Qube’s super funky festoon frame lighting which created a beautifully lit backdrop for photographs. An arrangement of rustic log tealight holders, succulent and wildflower arrangements in glass vases, milk bottles, jam jars and decanters adorned the table.
New copper and glass terraniums were also a feature throughout the venue styling with a selection of succulents which were scattered across the venue. Tealight holders and cylinder vases were used to create additional atmospheric lighting once the sun set over the lake.
The guests tables had alternative arrangements that included giant champagne flutes which were filled with lights and rustic elements. Large plumes of white feathers sprang from the top of the vases and the base stood on a bed of rustic, wild flowers.
The alternative tables housed our copper triple hangers covered in fresh foliage. Mini hanging copper and glass holders and copper geometric lanterns hung from the frames while the base of the stand sat on a bed of wild flowers. Each table setting held a sprig of heather tied to the napkins with twine to finish off the tableware.
Qube Events also made a table out of wooden pallets for the wedding cake to sit on. The stunning frosted cake by White Lace Cakes was placed on a log and dressed with asparagus fern, heather and roses.
