With weddings officially back on, the next 24 months look set to be a full-on celebration of gathering, getting hitched and partying once more. As such, top 2022/23 wedding trends are all about sparking joy, fun and creativity with personal touches and wow-worthy styling, setting the scene and creating long-lasting memories.
As ever, we’re seeing some much-loved trends continuing to stand the test of time (beautiful greenery-filled weddings, we’re looking at you!) and also some fresh, exciting themes and ideas filtering through (hello, Pantone colour of the year!).
So, Pinterest boards at the ready, as we focus on top industry influencers’ wedding trend predictions and share our own expert styling forecasts based on what’s most in-demand from our soon-to-wed clients. This includes top wedding themes, must-have colour schemes and hot wedding decor and prop picks.
Top Wedding Styling Trends For 2022/23
Modern Monochrome
Simple black and white weddings have been a top wedding styling trend for quite some time, but the look has had a contemporary glow-up. We’re talking upping the levels of luxe with structural floral displays, tropical greenery and cool glassware. Bold graphic and geometric details are also being incorporated into the updated monochrome wedding look, particularly in stationery, signage and striking backdrops.
Very Peri
At the other end of the colour spectrum, we have Pantone’s 2022 colour of the year – Very Peri. Pretty purple has long been favoured by brides, but this punchy hue is much more lively than classic pastel shades that have previously reigned supreme. According to Pantone, the colour is a dynamic peri(winkle) blue with a vivifying violet-red undertone that encourages personal inventiveness and creativity as we emerge from a period of intense isolation. Thus making it the perfect choice for couples wanting to go big and bold with their post-pandemic wedding celebrations.
Hanging Floral Installations & Flower Arches
Statement floral displays are a Qube Events speciality, and so we’ve been ahead of the game when it comes to this 2022/23 wedding styling trend. As couples look to impress guests with focal-point florals, expect to see more petal-packed flower arches and blossom-adorned backdrops, as well as a rise in imaginative floral displays suspended from the ceiling. Another favourite look of ours that lends itself beautifully to this trend is elevated centrepieces that run the entire length of the table.
Earthy Inspiration
In line with the popularity of rustic wedding venues, this top wedding trend is all about taking inspiration from the beauty of nature. Think gorgeous muted tones and natural textures with pampas grass, dried flowers and terracotta pots high on the decor wishlist. This styling theme also appeals to couples looking to host sustainable celebrations with numerous elements that can be reused, gifted to guests or recycled. If looking to add extra interest, consider adding pops of brighter hues in florals, glassware, crockery and candles. Romantic orange and pink tones, including coral rose and rust, are current favourites, but why not combine two top wedding styling trends by incorporating Pantone’s Very Peri into the palette?
White Out
An all-white wedding will never go out of fashion, but in 2022/23, the simplistic look is more popular than usual with our clients, and particularly for Asian weddings. The current all-white trend is about taking things back to basics for a crisp, clean yet elegant look. So, plain white table linens, single-hued floral displays and furniture, simple candles in clear vessels and classic crockery and glassware. If you want to add a more luxurious feel, go all out on the florals with full, soft arrangements in abundance. Or, for a modern edge, bring in cool acrylic signage and incorporate geometric elements, such as angled lanterns, centrepieces and backdrops.
Evergreen
Green schemes are going nowhere as couples’ love of foliage-filled celebrations continues. There’s plenty of variation to be found within this top wedding colour scheme though, with a hue to suit every big day style. Look out for light, fresh and timeless sage tones; modern, ethereal grey-greens; elegant yet earthy olive tones and opulent jewel emeralds. Our event stylists are finding many couples opting for soft, elegant green combined with crisp white with luxurious metallic pops. This dreamy styling works particularly well for relaxed marquee weddings, which we’re also set to see an increase of in 2022/23, with more couples opting for outdoor and back garden big days.
Magical Metallics
Nothing quite says party like glittering metallics, and so with 2022/23 looking to be all about those ‘go big or go home vibes’, this is a super fitting wedding theme to embrace! Silver, gold, bronze and copper tend to be the top metallic colour picks of choice, but dark tones such as black and navy can be equally effective and bring a sophisticated edge. For anyone going down this route, we’d suggest striking balloon installations, dazzling mirror balls and – a Qube Events favourite – sparkling sequin walls, to really make an impact.
